The University of Minnesota Libraries (

looking professional, who will provide leadership as Principal Cataloger in 
a service-oriented environment with demonstrated commitment to innovative 
approaches to cataloging and the use of technology to enhance and expand 
intellectual access.  The Principal Cataloger reports to the Director of 
Technical Services and works in collaboration with section managers and 
librarians responsible for cataloging, authority control, metadata, special 
formats, and special collections/rare books cataloging.  Required 
qualifications include masters' degree from an American Library Association 
accredited library school or equivalent combination of advanced degree and 
relevant experience; excellent communication, presentation, and 
interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a 
service-oriented, research intensive environment; minimum of three years 
experience cataloging in an online environment; demonstrated knowledge of 
cataloging standards, practice, and products; and demonstrated active 
engagement in professional activities and organizations.
