We are trying to determine our policy on keeping and updating
encyclopedias in paper format. In electronic format, we have Britannica
Online and Columbia Encyclopedia (through the MAS Ultra database from
EBSCOhost).

I would appreciate some feedback from the list members about:
1) how often you are updating your encyclopedias in paper,
2) which encyclopedias in paper format you would never discontinue and
why,
3) whether you are stopping the paper format of specific titles in favor
of electronic products and why, and
4) suggestions for good articles and/or books about selecting and
weeding encyclopedias

We currently have:
Encyclopedia Americana 1995
World Book 2000
Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th and 15th editions plus the Book of the
Year, 1942-2006

Thank you.
