We are a small private liberal arts university library. We bind and
catalog undergraduate honors theses, and keep them in open shelving. I
was surprised to learn that we are also letting these theses
circulate. We have one that is now lost, and my thinking is that (as
with any unique item) we should not be checking these out.
I'd like to hear from anyone who can confirm or contradict my thinking
that these materials should be non-circulating. How do other libraries
shelve and make available their students' undergraduate honors papers?
Thanks,
Dana
