The Research and Instruction Librarian / Humanities Specialist will provide 
leadership in collection development and faculty liaison responsibilities 
in the humanities, with a particular focus in English and English / 
American Literature. This Librarian will also participate in a broad range 
of activities including reference assistance and research and instructional 
consultation services; advanced skills instruction; support for existing 
instructional technologies; and investigation and implementation of new 
technologies and tools for instruction and research. This librarian will 
balance a strong commitment to facilitating the use of traditional and 
electronic information resources with an interest in developing new 
resources in teaching and scholarship. Requirements for this position 
include: an MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution; at least three 
years experience in a university or research library with emphasis on 
collection development in the humanities; strong knowledge of the internet 
and other electronic resources; knowledge of the application of computer 
technologies in the academic environment; demonstrated ability to work 
effectively with faculty, students and staff; the ability to work 
independently and as part of a team, and evidence of leadership, 
initiative, and innovation. Please note: some evening and weekend work 
required.
