Are you an energetic and motivated leader ready to move forward in the
ever-changing world of cataloging? Are you user and access focused,
willing to try different models until you find the one that works? If
so, the University of Tennessee (UT) Libraries wants you for our
Cataloging Coordinator.

The Cataloging Coordinator reports to the Team Leader for Technical
Services and Digital Access (TSDA) and supervises one librarian and one
exempt staff. This staff member supervises six additional
paraprofessionals. Most monographs are received pre-cataloged and sent
directly to the shelves. Cataloging is performed by faculty and staff
throughout the Technical Services team for branch and affiliate
libraries. Some branches do limited cataloging under the direction of
the Cataloging Coordinator. The TSDA team of nearly thirty faculty and
staff includes six librarians and two exempt staff who manage
acquisitions, cataloging, serials, and digital resource access for the
Libraries. We are incorporating more non-MARC cataloging into daily
operations, and one librarian works exclusively with metadata.

Position: Cataloging Coordinator
Appointment Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor
Salary: $48,000 minimum
Available: October 1, 2006
