RUSA CODES/RSS Dual Assignments Discussion Group Meeting

Instant Gratification: Immediately Meeting Patron Needs in Public and
Academic Libraries.

Saturday, June 24, 10:30 to 12:30, Room 235-236, Morial Convention Center

What do you do when… You learn that your entire library system has
only one copy of THE book group title of the season and there are
already seventeen holds? Your ILL staff tells you they’ve had ten
requests for the same book this week because a professor has strongly
recommended it to her entire class, assuring them that it is at the
library. Everyone is welcome to attend and talk about how their
libraries handle immediate patron needs. This should be a lively and
informative session.

The Dual Assignments Discussion Group is for librarians who have
collection development assignments and any other regular
responsibilities such as reference, instruction, cataloging,
acquisitions, and reader’s advisory.
