Coordinator of Collection Development

Reporting to the Dean of Library Services, the Coordinator of 
Collection Development provides leadership and vision for collection 
development programs and planning; coordinates materials selection; 
assesses and evaluates collections and gathers relevant statistics.  
The Coordinator selects and identifies materials needed to support the 
University curricula and collaborates with and provides outreach to 
University faculty.  This is a tenure track position at the Instructor 
or Assistant Professor level.

Minimum Qualifications:  Master’s degree in library science from an 
ALA-accredited institution is required.  A second Master’s degree in a 
related field is required for tenure.  Two years of professional 
experience in collection development in an academic library; Evidence 
of ability to manage and coordinate a collection development program; 
Understanding of trends in scholarly communication and the publishing 
industry.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Minimum 
for Instructor is $37,000, and Assistant Professor is $49,000.
