POSITION OPENING-Instruction Librarian & University Community Outreach
Coordinator: University of West Georgia, Carrollton, GA

Ingram Library, University of West Georgia, seeks a dynamic, innovative
librarian with a strong commitment to user service and collegiality for
the position of Instruction Librarian.  The successful candidate will be a
member of the Instructional Services Division staff of 8 FTE librarians
and 1 support staff who report to the Head of Instructional Services.
Twelve-month, tenure track position, with target appointment at
Librarian/Instructor or Librarian/Assistant Professor rank.

Responsibilities:  Participates in an active library instruction program
that includes teaching multiple sections of credit course in library
research in web-based and classroom formats; responsible for campus
community outreach; maintains standing membership on Library Public
Relations Committee; serves as editor of the Library newsletter; provides
reference service with some nights and weekends; teaches focused library
instruction classes; serves as liaison for two or more academic
departments; performs collection development for liaison departments; and
other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:  ALA-accredited or Georgia Board of Regents
approved MLS/MLIS; second graduate degree required for appointment above
Instructor rank, for tenure, and for promotion above Instructor rank; able
to fulfill standard promotion, tenure requirements; outstanding
communication and organizational skills;  ability to work creatively and
collaboratively with others;  knowledge of and experience with a wide
array of traditional and electronic information sources;  ability to
create web pages; must be eligible to work permanently in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications: Reference experience in an academic library;
teaching experience that includes electronic design and delivery methods;
experience with Library public relations programs.

Salary/Benefits
Salary: $34,000 minimum
Standard benefits package: 21 days vacation, 12 paid holidays, retirement
(including state/optional programs), health/dental insurance, 403b.

the position of Instruction & Instructional Materials Librarian.  The
successful candidate will be a member of the
Instructional Services Division staff of 8 FTE librarians and 1 support
