As you prepare for the ALA Midwinter, please put it on your calendar
to attend the event listed below:

 > *The Science & Technology Section (STS), Publishers/Vendors
Relations Discussion Group will be hosting a discussion on ‘Best
Practices for Electronic Resources’. The focus will be the Punchlist
of Best Practices for Electronic Resources, prepared by Engineering
Libraries Division (ELD) of the American Society for Engineering
Education (ASEE). This is the first time that this document will
feature in a public forum. About five or six publishers/vendors have
given their commitments to participate.
 >
 > We will be delighted if you can join us for a relaxed but lively
discussion. This is to ring in the New Year of best practices for our
electronic resources. Come and have your questions answered. Since we
are having problems with attachments on the listservs, perhaps you can
view the punchlist directly on the ASEE/ELD website
(http://eld.lib.uc.davis.edu/). I will also have some copies at the
session.

The punchlist covers key areas of concern to librarians. However, the
goal is to open converstation between librarians and content providers
in order to effect changes that will benefit all parties involved.

*Date: Sunday January 22
*Time: 10.30 -12:30
*Location: Crowne Plaza, Riverwalk, Ballroom A.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thank you
Ronke
Co-chair Publishers/Vendors Relations Discussion Group
