Our library has not previously served or collected Asian audio visual
materials. We recently received a donation of 6 DVDs created for
region 6, China. I am interested in answers to the following
questions. Any information greatly appreciated.
1. Does you library accept / collect DVDs from regions outside North
America?
2. Does your library have a player that can be used with non-region 1
DVDs?
3. What kind of signage, or wording do you put on DVDs to warn the
borrower that these items do not or may not play on home equipment?
4. Do you give all foreign DVDs to your International Studies
departments if you do not add them to your collection? For example,
do departments have the equipment, if you do not have any in the library.
5. Other Comments or advise?
