Qualifications/Requirements:  ALA accredited MLS; Strong background or 
additional degree in the area of applied and natural sciences 
preferred (see CANS web site at www.ans.latech.edu ); Knowledge of 
current issues and trends in library instruction; 2-5 years 
professional reference experience in the academic environment 
preferred; Experience using electronic library and internet 
technologies; Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and 
written/oral communication skills; Ability to work effectively with 
faculty, staff and students.

Responsibilities:  Responsible for the coordination and collaborative 
design and development of library instructional programs and 
resources.  Assist in the design, implementation and promotion of an 
instruction/information literacy curriculum, both online and 
traditional; Prepare course-related instructional materials and assist 
in staff training as needed; Coordinates instructional planning with 
library staff; Participates in Library and University committees and 
contributes to Library planning .Provide full range of reference 
services to university faculty, staff and students.  Duties include 
staffing the Reference Desk during daytime, night and weekend rotation 
schedule, and collection development.

Louisiana Tech University is a selective admission public university 
with 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The main campus is 
located in Ruston, a city of 20,600 in the piney hills of North 
Louisiana and conveniently located between the two metropolitan areas 
of Monroe and Shreveport.  Prescott Memorial Library is a member of 
the LOUIS statewide library consortium.  The library has a staff of 
27.  The library houses over 2,000,000 items, is a regional U.S. 
government documents depository, and is a member of SOLINET and OCLC.

Salary: Starting salary of $42,000.  Twelve month, tenure-track 
position.  Competitive benefit package.
