Two Positions – Georgetown University Library.

1. Government, Foreign Affairs and Communications Bibliographer.

2. Asian Studies and Linguistics Bibliographer.

Georgetown University Library is committed to teaching, learning and 
service excellence. Working under the direction of the Head, 
Collection Development within the division of Collections and 
Technical Services, Bibliographers are responsible for the development 
of collections within specific subject areas in line with the 
pedagogical needs of the University, including the expansion of 
Digital Georgetown.  Serving as the principal liaisons to the related 
departments and programs, Bibliographers work with faculty to 
integrate the library’s resources into their research and curricular 
activities.  Bibliographers select materials in all formats, 
contribute to the development of cooperative collection development 
programs with other libraries and library consortia, perform library 
instruction, gifts management, monitor collection development and 
scholarly publishing trends in research and libraries and the 
commercial sector, work with vendor approval plans, recommend annual 
allocations, and assist in the monitoring of the library materials 
budget in the assigned areas of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:
ALA-accredited MLS, plus second Master’s in subject area related to 
scope of position; or Ph.D. in subject area(s) related to scope of 
position and related experience.  Minimum of 5 years collection 
development experience within an academic and/or research library. 
Must have subject and/or language proficiencies relevant to the areas
