Subject: ALCTS CMDS Collection Development Issues for the Practitioner
Interest Group
From: Sara Williams <swilli16_at_utk.edu>
After much discussion, the ALCTS CMDS Collection Development Issues
for the Practitioner Committee voted last June in Orlando to
reconstitute itself as an interest group. Interest Groups are new to
ALCTS, serving as enhanced discussion groups, with the capability of
producing publications and sponsoring programs.
So our first meeting as an Interest Group will be held on Sunday,
January 16, at 2:00 p.m. in the Westing Essex North Center. Our first
topic is sharing ideas on how to train, motivate, and set performance
goals for subject selectors. Please come and share your ideas.
Note: If you've looked at the event planner recently, you may have
seen a conflicting meeting for the Collection Development Issues for
the Practitioner Committee schedule at 8:30 Sunday morning. This is an
error. Please ignore it. The correct time is 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
