DISTANCE EDUCATION LIBRARIAN

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA LIBRARY

The University of Regina Library invites applications for the position 
of Distance Education Librarian, reporting to the Head, Library Research
Services.

Position Description:  
·	Serves as the primary resource to provide library services to 
off-campus students, faculty and staff.  

·	Identifies, plans, and coordinates delivery of library services 
in support of students and faculty to off-campus sites.


Duties and Responsibilities:

·	Coordinates and leads the development and delivery of 
reference and instructional services as they apply to distance 
education, Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), and Co-op programs.

·	Provides reference service and delivers instruction sessions 
for distance education, TEL, and off-campus Co-op students.

·	Provides liaison to instructors in distance education programs, 
TEL, off-campus Co-op programs, Centre for Continuing Education 
(Distance Learning Division), and Centre for Academic Technology.

·	Participates in library-wide and university planning.

Qualifications:
·	MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program or equivalent.
·	High degree of flexibility, self-motivation, and strong 
organizational skills.

·	Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to public service.

·	Willingness to travel to off-campus sites within the province 
and work a flexible schedule as required. 

·	Professional library experience in a public services setting 
is an asset.

·	Familiarity with issues in library services for distance 
learners, distance education, or TEL is an asset.

·	Experience with advanced Web applications, HTML and 
videoconferencing is an asset.


This tenure-track position will be filled at a rank and salary 
commensurate with experience and qualifications, normally at the 
Librarian I or Librarian II level.  Librarians are members of the 
University of Regina Faculty Association and are encouraged to 
take part in scholarship, research or professional activities.
