Would any of you share your findings related to the pros & cons of
nursing journal databases? We presently have ProQuest Nursing
Journals and I miss having the searching power that you get with other
vendors. Our academic group has gotten special pricing for CINAHL via
ProQuest, but I wonder if another vendor would be better.

Since I am starting a library for the college, it would be a great
timesaver for me if I could get your feedback rather than doing a
full-blown evaluation project.

Thank you in advance for your help.

We have CINAHL through Ovid, with 2 full-text nursing journal
collections in the related and connected Journals_at_Ovid. (Ignore the
link - it's not meant to be a hyperlink.) The journal collections
provide core titles and are very well used, and with our OpenURL
product, we can link in to them from other databases too. Ovid is
EXTREMELY powerful, but requires training to be able to use to its
full potential - even for librarians. One quibble - we have not yet
been able to get Ovid to let us link directly to the databases page.
Even though we use IP address recognition, we're still started at a
login page at which we just click "OK" without entering anything. Grrr.
