ALA New Members Round Table is looking for a few good men and women to
participate in the Conference Mentoring program at this summers ALA
Annual. The program pairs first time or new conference goers with
librarians from the spectrum of ALA Caucuses, Divisions and
Round-Tables and is a great opportunity for librarians both new and
experienced, to share with and learn from one another...

Do you remember being overwhelming at your first ALA Conference?
Do you consider yourself a Conference Pro now?
This is your opportunity to give back...be a Conference Mentor!
The New Members Round Table (NMRT) Mentoring Committee is pleased to
announce that they are seeking mentors for their Conference Mentoring
Program for the ALA Annual Conference in June!
The Conference Mentoring Program is designed to connect first time
conference attendees with a 'Seasoned Professional' who can help them
in navigating their first ALA Annual Conference.
What better way to give back to the profession, build leadership
skills, and reminisce on those early days than to be a mentor - plus
it looks great on a resume or a tenure dossier!
Interested? For more information please visit the NMRT Mentoring
Committee page of the NMRT web site at
http://www.ala.org/Template.cfm?Section=comm&Template=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=59855
and apply online at
http://www.ala.org/ala/nmrt/comm/mentoringapp.htm.
The Conference Mentoring Program is open to all ALA members and the
application deadline is May 14, 2004. Mentors are encouraged to apply
early.
