  Project Editor for Resources for College Libraries
   Choice, Middletown, CT

Project Editor for "Resources for College Libraries," (RCL) a new 
online  core collection of recommended titles for academic
library collections  and successor to Books for College Libraries.

This  independent contractor position will be responsible for project
management, including development of subject classifications,
recruiting, training, and overseeing subject editors and support 
staff; developing workflow procedures and schedules; creating and 
maintaining the editorial database; reviewing work of the subject 
editors; preparing editorial apparatus, and reporting to advisory 
board. Some travel required, primarily to library meetings/conferences.

Requirements include minimum 5 years' relevant experience in an 
academic library, library vendor, scholarly publishing, or
related environment.  ALA accredited masters in library science or
advanced degree. Strong editorial, organizational, computer, and
interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and adhere to 
tight deadlines in a team-oriented environment. Academic library 
collection development experience highly desirable.

This 2-year contract position is based in the CHOICE
office in Middletown, CT, and reports to the Editorial
Director. 35 hour work week, flexible hours, and competitive salary. 
Travel expenses reimbursed per CHOICE policy. This position is not
eligible for vacation, holiday pay, or benefits.
