Wright State University Libraries, Dayton, OH The University Libraries at Wright State University is seeking nominations and applications for an Associate University Librarian. The person assuming this position will be an active member of a senior library management leadership team, and an organization that is committed to library service excellence and continuous professional development for library staff. This position carries significant responsibilities for managerial planning, implementation and oversight of Technical Services, Collection Development, and Special Collections & Archives departments, and provides the opportunity to make a significant professional contribution to academic librarianship. Position reports to the University Librarian. Responsibilities: Provides administrative oversight for the University Libraries (Paul Laurence Dunbar Library and the Fordham Health Sciences Library) of Technical Services, Collection Development, and Special Collections & Archives departments and is responsible for their successful operation. Serves as a senior library manager on the University Libraries' Administrative Council and actively participates in University Library-wide policy formation, strategic planning and goal formation, service initiatives, library development, the allocation of resources and the preparation of grant proposals. Will serve as the permanent chair of the University Libraries' marketing committee and will actively participate in state and national professional consortia and organizations. For more information: http://www.libraries.wright.edu/about/jobopps/aul.html Qualifications: Required: ALA Accredited M.L.S.; minimum of five years of academic library experience, at least three of which must include significant administrative/managerial responsibilities (department or division level); strong library service orientation; extensive knowledge of contemporary trends in library technical services and collection development; successful record of supervision and project management and an ability to mobilize people for group action; excellent oral and written communication abilities; evidence of effective leadership and decision making ability. Preferred: Additional graduate degree; experience in working with state and regional consortia; marketing experience.
