Keeping up: what technical services librarians should know and where 
they can learn it

Speakers, Michael Gorman, Dean of Library Services at the Henry Madden
Library, California State University, Fresno, and Heidi Hoerman, 
Instructor specializing in technical services, School of Library and 
Information Science, University of South Carolina will address what 
technical services librarians need to know to do our jobs effectively 
and the multitude of opportunities for learning that are available to 
us.  Mr. Gorman is internationally known for his contributions to 
cataloging (he was the editor of the first edition of AACR2 and the 
1988 revision) and for his research the future of libraries.  Ms. 
Hoerman teaches technical services and has written and presented 
extensively on the education, recruitment, and
training of technical services librarians.  The registration forms for
