Document Delivery Librarian
Interlibrary Services / Main Library Services Division

The Document Delivery Librarian is responsible for all interlibrary loan 
and document delivery activities, including planning and implementing 
expanded document delivery services for distance learning, desktop and 
fee-based document delivery, and serving as the library's designated expert 
and advisor on copyright.  Other responsibilities encompass all activities 
of Interlibrary Services including staffing, organization, budget, 
statistics, policies, user services, copyright, special projects, 
evaluating and integrating new technology, monitoring resource-sharing 
agreements, and taking a leadership role in related professional 
organizations.

Interlibrary Services has eight budgeted FTE staff and 15 student workers 
providing interlibrary borrowing, lending, OCLC searching, and document 
supply services, processing more than 100,000 transactions annually.  For

The position reports to the Head Librarian, Main Library Services Division.

Required Qualifications:  MLS from an ALA accredited graduate program; 
three years experience in interlibrary loan services and protocol; 
technical expertise with Internet, Ariel, interlibrary loan management 
software, and other modes of information access and delivery; supervisory 
experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience with ILLiad; experience managing a 
budget; experience with consortial efforts (Greater Western Library 
Alliance, TexShare, or other national and state ILL organizations); 
experience with an advanced system for delivering documents to the desktop; 
demonstrated potential for leadership in university, state, national, and 
international programs and initiatives; demonstrated excellent 
communication and interpersonal skills; evidence of initiative, creative 
energy, resourcefulness and strong commitment to public service; evidence 
of excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.

Salary and Benefits:  $50,000 annually or more depending on qualifications 
and experience.  No state or local income tax.  Standard state benefits 
package including annual vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, retirement 
plans, and health insurance options (comprehensive major medical or HMO 
plans, dental, vision, life, and disability).  Deferred compensation and 
tax sheltered annuity programs also available.
