An interesting program fyi.
BRITTLE is a program run out of the University of Kansas Libraries
to provide low-cost, preservation-quality copies of old and brittle
books. I've found it useful both as a preservation and a collection
development tool. Copies already held of items on the list are likely
to be brittle themselves. Items not already held may be candidates
for retrospective collection development, as most are older imprints
now in the public domain. Information about the program and
instructions for joining the listserv may be found at
http://www2.lib.ukans.edu/preservation/Brittle.html.
