We have been receiving our approval books shelf-ready for
some time. Our approval money is divided into three main
pots: hum, sci, and socsci plus funds for the various
disciplines used by selectors. Depending on the book vendor,
reports can be obtained by no. bks. per LC class and using
the avg $$$'s spent for books in the class, you can arrive
at an estimate for the various disciplines in the approval
expenditures. You can also extract nos from your library
system and/or the NATC if you participate and estimate
expenditures based on your history in NATC. We have a
serials database we use to extract expenditures by discipline.
We provide these numbers for program reviews, accreditation
reports, etc. Is this what you're asking? We do not provide
departments with annual expenditures.
