Dear Practitioners-

Our group is working on a project for a collection development
class, and we need your assistance.

We are identifying and studying factors that contribute to/or
falsify our hypothesis that interest in collection development
courses has been on the decline. We also speculate that library
programs are placing less emphasis on the importance of collection
development as part of a core library education. We will be
sending a survey corresponding to the one below to library
educators asking them to rate similar criteria, and then
make comparisons between the educators' and practitioners'
responses.

Your input is very valuable to our survey, and we appreciate
the time you will take answering the following questions.

All responses will be confidential and reported without
identifying either the authors or the institutions. I will
summarize all responses for the list. (sorry for any cross
postings)

Thanks,
Kristina Howard, Stephen Cooper, & Mariela Hristova
