We have received and cataloged one volume (the one covering
Medicine) so far.
It seems to me to be a solid enough resource, although I'm
not an expert on
medical literature.

Beth,

Are you sure you're not confusing "Best Books for Academic
Libraries" with
"Best Reference Books?" We received a flier this week too.
Both appear to be
published by The Best Books, Inc. but are different titles.
"Best Reference
Books" is a 5 volume set and "Best Books for Academic
Libraries" is a 10
volume set. The latter is not limited to just reference
books. We've
received 2 or 3 volumes of it thus far and have found it to
be a very
valuable tool in the selection process.
