 Subject: CDL-PROBLEM COMPANY

 From: Mary-Bess Halford <mhalford_at_bethanywv.edu>

I am having a problem with a very pushy company called IT DataDirect which
claims that I have signed on for a number of its products when I am quite
sure that I have not. The procedure is that the item has been on back
order and is now winging its way to me attached to a very hefty price
tag. Has anybody else had trouble with them? How do I get them to
stop? Or am I just developing a persecution complex? Thanks for any
 insight you can give.

Doesn't your university have a legal dept? Without actually doing anything
about it, I would write a vey direct letter to the company stating my case
and letting them know that if they persisted in "harassing me" I would be
in contact with Mr. So and so the university's counsel. Send the letter return
receipt. and hopefully they'll go away. Request a copy of any
contracts signed and the names of individuals who made any commitment as well.

Good Luck and hang in there!
