Collection Management and Planning Coordinator
(Level III Librarian/Position #2666) A junior-level manager position that
reports directly to the Associate Director for Collections and Personnel
providing leadership in the areas of planning and design of collection
management services. RESPONSIBILITIES: Will assist in all functional activities
relating to collection management. Provides analysis regarding collection
development and management and has responsibility for assisting and
recommending developing strategies to increase the effectiveness of materials
selection. The Coordinator will apply technologies and data to assess all
University Library collections, monitor materials budget expenditures, develop
policies and procedures and oversee the workflow for collection management.
Must be aware of current trends in publishing and digital library initiatives.
Serves as the subject specialist for the Philosophy and Religion Departments
with collection management and reference responsibilities. Using allocated
funds, the complex range of information options and the consortia
arrangements of University Library, the subject specialist will build and
maintain working collections, and use the information technologies available
to support teaching and research conducted at CWRU. Participates in
reference assignments, staffing reference desk (evening and weekend rotation),
designing web-based information resources, assisting users with electronic
and print resources and developing collections in assigned subject areas.
QUALIFICATIONS: MLS from ALA accredited institution is required. A second
masters in the Humanities is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of library
related experience. Previous experience in an academic library and
familiarity with collections development and assessment, statistical analysis
and budget management is required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: $47,600 Minimum. Comprehensive benefits package
