Does anyone have experience with the following?

We would like to use various copyrighted images, mainly thumbnails of
book jackets, database logos and so on to highlight these items in our
library web pages and catalog. If you have done this, what procedures
have you followed to make sure your staff is not violating copyright?

I think that using database logos is generally considered as welcome
marketing on the part of the library but wonder whether the copyright
question gets murkier when you start talking about the use of thumbnails

of book jackets. Our web people want to know for sure.

Thanks,
Helen
