Prospects 2nd International Evidence Based Librarianship
Conference - EBL 2003

Edmonton, Alberta
June 4 - June 6, 2003

The International Programme Committee of the 2nd International Evidence
Based Librarianship Conference 2003 invites you to submit contributed
papers or posters for the conference in Edmonton, Alberta, June 4 -

submission form can be found at:

http://www.ualberta.ca/~pryan/EBL2003.html

Call for Contributed Papers
The International Programme Committee is inviting submissions for the
contributed paper sessions. Papers may describe practitioner-based
research, the implementation of research in practice, evaluation as a
way of informing future activities or programmes or the application
of evidence based practice models and tools to librarianship and should
relate to the overall theme of the conference.

Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
* International perspectives on evidence based librarianship
* The relationship between evidence based librarianship and
		evidence based practice
* Relevant and answerable questions facing librarian
		practitioners and researchers
* The quality and quantity of practice-based research in
		librarianship
* Techniques for synthesising and summarising the evidence
* Disseminating and utilising research into practice
* Project evaluation, Program evaluation or the Measurement of
educational outcomes in library practice
Accepted contributed papers will each be allotted approximately 20
minutes for presentation during the course of the conference and will
be presented as part of either a research stream or a practice stream.

Call for Posters
Poster sessions comprise visual presentations of information about
research or other projects. They offer a less formal alternative to
contributed papers and plenary sessions, and an opportunity to interact
directly with those responsible for the presentations. Poster
presenters will be allotted an 8' by 4' poster board, a table, and
electricity. You must bring your own laptop computer if your poster
presentation is to be electronic---with a standalone version of the
presentation. Those displaying electronic posters may wish to use the
poster board to draw notice to the topic being presented. You will be
required to staff your print or electronic poster during a portion of
the conference (June 5); posters will be open to viewing by conference
delegates on both days of the conference (June 5 and 6).

Submissions are due by 12 midnight GMT, Friday December 13, 2002.
