Subject: Life expectancy of paperbacks

I would like to hear what assumptions others are working with for the life
expectancy of paperbacks in the collection. 1) How many times do you
expect a typical popular paperback to circulate before it must be replaced
and 2) How many times do you expect it to circulate before you justify
purchasing an added copy? I evaluate donations, and I am wanting formulas
to work with for deciding whether to accept added copies. Another thing I
would ask is 3) How many months / years do you keep an inflated number of
multiple copies of a best seller before you decide it has probably played
out and trim back on the number? Thanks.
