This is off the collection development topic, but I hope I can get some
good information from some of you on this list.

I am directing the following questions to academic libraries:

Do librarians at your institution have faculty status?

Do librarians at your institution participate in a peer review tenure
and promotion process?

Is the peer review by committee?

If so, who may serve on the committee?
Tenured and/or non-tenured librarians?
Are committee members elected, appointed, or other?

Any additional comments or opinions about your process are welcome.

At this point at my library, we do not restrict membership on our
promotion and tenure review committees to tenured faculty. I am
considering proposing an amendment to our guidelines that would restrict
it, but I am curious what others libraries do who go through the
process.

Please forward responses directly to me: kenreichm_at_pdx.edu. Thanks for
any information.
