Position Announcement:

Librarian II

The University of Missouri  St. Louis is seeking a Librarian II.

Responsibilities: Provides leadership in planning and implementing 
reference/instruction/information literacy services in a rapidly changing 
technological environment,  Responsible for the day-to-day management and 
operation of Reference activities in the Ward E. Barnes 
Library.  Supervises and evaluates the reference staff.  Ensures the 
quality and currency of the reference collection in collaboration with 
reference librarians.  Works collaboratively to create and implement new 
services that respond to the needs of faculty and students in the 
University of Missouri  St. Louis' Colleges of Education and Nursing, and 
the School of Optometry.  Participates in reference services (including 
nights and weekends), library instruction and collection development.

Qualifications: M.L.S., or its equivalent, from an ALA-accredited library 
school; minimum of three years professional, academic library experience, 
including reference and supervisory experience; working knowledge of HTML 
and/or web-authoring tools; strong interpersonal skills; excellent written 
and oral communication skills.

Highly Desirable: Experience in collection development and library 
instruction, demonstrated commitment to public services, ability to foster 
collegial environment.

Base Salary: $35, 500 plus excellent benefits.
