Does anyone use syllabi as a tool in determining materials allocations for
disciplines/departments?

It seems that syllabi would be useful tools not only in making sure one's
collection is meeting specific curricular needs, but also as a measure of
library use which might be more accurate than student/faculty FTEs, number
of upper level courses taught, and other such less than precise measures.

If you have any experience/ideas in this realm, please let me know--I'm
happy to summarize comments to the list.

Thanks and Peace,

Daniel
