Pre-Conference Session on the Future of Collections Work in Canadian Libraries
Preliminary Announcement and Call for Papers
June 19, 2002
Halifax, N.S.
The Collection Development & Management Interest Group of the Canadian
Library Association seeks proposals for papers and panel presentations on
the Future of Collections Work in Canadian Libraries. The keynote speaker
will be Ken Frazier, Director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison
General Library System. Papers and presentations with broad applications or
applications of interest in several library sectors will be given
preference. The proposals will be vetted by two external readers and all
applicants will be notified by March 15, 2002. This pre-conference session
will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Location and registration fees
TBA.
Deadline for submission of abstract proposals for papers or panel
presentations: Feb. 15, 2002
Electronic submissions are preferred.
Proposals should include the following:
Title
Speaker name and affiliation
Speaker contact information
Abstract of at least 500 words
Statement: How your paper is related to the theme (one sentence)
Library sector(s) addressed by your paper (public/academic/school/special)
