Science Bibliographer and Coordinator of Collection Development.
University of Southern Maine Library seeks a Science Bibliographer
and Coordinator of Collection Development, with leadership responsibilities
for building library collections and support for science and technology
research
and teaching, and for developing and managing the Library's various strategies
for collection development and arranging access to remote resources.
Reports to Library Director.
Required qualifications include: ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent; Bachelors
with specialization in a major subject area of the sciences; 2 years relevant
library experience in collection development, including experience with
commercial approval plans with major book vendors; substantial experience
with library integrated computer systems, preferably in a networked
environment. Preferred: Advanced/graduate degree in a scientific or
technology discipline;
familiarity with research needs in biotechnology and information technology;
record of professional involvement.
