The Public Library Committee of RUSA/MARS invites you to the following
presentation at MidWinter2002:

Topic-- "I'm Addicted to Google and I Feel Guilty About It!"
Many Librarians use Google almost to the exclusion of other search engines.
There are many reasons for this devotion and it is a mostly justified
feeling. This discussion session will explore how Google works, what it does
best, and when other search engines or directories are perhaps better
choices. An informal presentation will explain the science behind the Google
search engine and how it differs from other search engines. All of Google's
capabilities will also be discussed from images to Usenet. In addition Mary
Stansbury, PhD will be discussing the results of a class project she has
conducted comparing Google to other search engines with her students at Kent
State University.
