Cornell University's Albert R. Mann Library invites applications for
three professional positions. The Library is seeking energetic,
innovative, and dedicated individuals who would enjoy working in a creative
and dynamic environment. Mann Library, the second largest of the 19 libraries
in the Cornell University Library system, is located in Ithaca, New York, a
small, vibrant college town situated on the southern end of Cayuga Lake in
the Finger Lakes region. Mann Library is considered to be the premier
agricultural, life science, and human ecology library within an academic
institution in the United States. The library holds almost one million
items in its collection of print, microform, and online resources and has
achieved national renown for its digital library

Social Sciences Bibliographer: Responsible for selecting materials for
the social sciences, and building the social sciences data collection
at Mann Library. Serves as liaison to the social science departments
of the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Human Ecology.
Successful candidate will provide consultation to patrons on the use of
social science data, and assist in the reference and instruction programs
at Mann Library.
Access Services Librarian: Seeking dynamic and creative individual to
manage the library’s circulation, reserve, interlibrary loan, document
delivery and collection maintenance functions. The Access Service
department consists of 11 full time staff and 40 student assistants
and provides ample opportunity for the successful candidate to develop
and strengthen management skills. Participation in the development and
implementation of policies and procedures, as well as other public
services such as reference, instruction, and consulting as appropriate.
Public Services Librarian/Spatial Data Specialist: Provides quality
reference, consulting, and instruction services as a member of a team
of 8 professionals. Responsible for the management of the Cornell University
Geospatial Information Repository (CUGIR) including the selection of
geospatial data, negotiations with data partners, end-user support, and
the expansion and redesign of the web site using the latest research in
digital libraries. A basic knowledge of UNIX and html and experience with
Geospatial Information Systems software is preferred.
