REFERENCE/USER SERVICES LIBRARIAN
Georgia Southwestern State University's James Earl Carter Library seeks a
Reference/User Services Librarian to develop and provide a full range of
user services as a member of a small reference team. Services include an
innovative instructional program, online and database searching, collection
development, evaluation and enhancement of the reference collection, the
development of bibliographic and teaching tools in a variety of formats and
reference desk services. This position coordinates and participates in the
Library's instructional program and is responsible for the Library's
distance learning component. Weekend and/or evening work required.
Required Qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited program; must have a
strong user-orientation, be flexible and able to work well in a
collaborative team environment, strong oral and written skills, knowledge
and familiarity with emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications: Reference/user services experience in an academic
or research library; experience in using an integrated online system;
experience with GALILEO or a similar consortium.
This position holds faculty rank, tenure-track, with a generous benefits
package. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
