I am posting the following for Glenda Thornton, Director of the Cleveland
State University Library, who is the new editor of COLLECTION MANAGEMENT.

Call for papers for COLLECTION MANAGEMENT:

With Volume 26, COLLECTION MANAGEMENT (Haworth Press, Inc.) has as new
editor, new editorial board, and renewed emphasis on publishing
peer-reviewed articles in the field of collection development and
management.  The journal is currently seeking papers addressing topics
such as:

*  Balancing access and ownership in developing collections to meet users'
needs

*  Meeting the personnel challenges created by changing methods of
acquiring and developing collections

*  Participating in consortia agreements while retaining collection
identity and pride

*  Creating unique digital collections and serving new communities of
users

*  Participating in and creating change in the scholarly communication
system

*  Learning more about users' needs  and expectations and incorporating
results in collection planning

*  Serving the needs of distance learners

* Working with vendors to develop services that are sustainable and
affordable
