I would like to hear about experiences libraries have with funding
aggregates such as Project Muse and J-Stor. Do most libraries use one
fund line for aggregates? Are there any libraries which are able to
pull off the complex gymnastic of distributing the funds for the
individual journals in aggregates to specific subject lines?
Many thanks/Adam Rosenkranz

Iowa State University funds these out of single fund lines. It's the only
way we can handle the accounting and getting the bill paid. We do assign
subject codes to individual titles, so we know which departments or
programs would be most affected by additions or cancellations of titles.
Because these are paid for in the aggregate, we would gain little from
assigning individual costs to individual departments--no one department can
recommend that we cancel Project Muse, or JSTOR, because so many others
would be affected.
