The Palmer School of Long Island University offers a variety of courses in
a condensed format over the summeron current topics in the library and
information science field.
The following courses will be offered at our Manhattan campus, located in
Bobst Library of NYU:
LIS 900K Selecting, Managing, and Organizing Electronic Resources for Your
Library
M-F, August 6-10, 9:30-4:30
This institute will address the selection and management of electronic
resources such as: ejournals and ebooks, commercial databases, full-text
resources, and free Internet resources.Participants will gain the
understanding of how to organize them for effective retrieval.

Columbia University
LIS 901D Great Libraries & Their Collections
Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 26-July 24, 6:00-9:00
This course offers an approachto collections in great libraries on an
international basis. Topics will include: the historical developmentand
global distribution of major institutions, the literature available on
their resources, and methods for comparative study.
