Information Resources Development Librarian
Mid-level, 12-month tenure-track position.
Primary Duties: Lead and support staff in allocating and monitoring
collections budget, in selecting material in all disciplines and media formats,
and in maintaining an active relationship with faculty and students; ensure an
active program of effective and responsive collections in support of the
teaching and research programs; lead in integrating digital and print-based
collections into a cohesive university collection and direct the development of
preservation of library resources in all formats.
Required: ALA accredited MLS or equivalent degree; 5 years of academic library
experience in a strong electronic environment; knowledge of standard
bibliographic practices, publishing trends, electronic resources and national
trends in collection development philosophy and management; proven ability to
solve problems creatively with effective outstand oral/written/interpersonal
skills. Desired: 3 years in information resources development; knowledge of
and/or experience with preservation; licensing and copyright
knowledge/expertise; and experience with library budgeting practices.
