Responsible for the system wide selection, procurement and processing
for library materials. Performs a leadership role in ensuring that
all the work of staff and systems are directed towards the optimal
achievement of the library's strategic directions. Ensures performance
at an optimal level by leading, managing and motivating staff.
Participates in the implementation of the public service mission of
the Library by ensuring the timely and efficient selection, ordering,
receipt and preparation of new and replacement materials. Develops
and maintains relationships with vendors, publishers, etc. Develops
collection's policies and procedures. Plans, develops, documents,
and implements enhancements to the SAP materials procurement system.
Oversees the development of, and provides content for, the CDD and
SAP WebPages. Supervises, trains, develops and evaluates subordinate
staff.
Minimum Qualifications: MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited library
school and at least six years of public library experience including
a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience. Demonstrated evidence
of experience in collection development. Ability to communicate
effectively. Advanced knowledge and use of MS Office applications
and materials procurement software (SAP or other).
