Julie Hurd and I are proposing a panel presentation for the 2001 American
Society of Information Science and Technology annual meeting - under the
aegis of the Science and Technology Information SIG. This panel discussion
will focus on hard data from libraries regarding the usage, value, and/or
needs of libraries regarding print and electronic resources. If you are
working on use studies of print and electronic materials, this is your
chance to let the world know! Please send me an abstract of your work ASAP
for consideration.

This panel came out of a call by Carol Tenopir at the last ASIS&T
conference for hard data that libraries can use in talking with users and
with publishers about electronic vs. print subscriptions. We're interested
in field studies of any facet of this issue. (Julie's paper is a user study
for preferences, and mine is on reshelving stats for ScienceDirect
journals).

Thanks!
