AGENDA

1.Announcements and Introductions

2.Approval of minutes from the July 8, 2000 annual meeting

3.Discussion of reports submitted by ARL, CRL and LC, distributed prior to
the meeting

4.Nominating Committee announced

5.Counting electronic resources (Jakubs)

How are libraries counting electronic resources and including them in
statistical reports? ARL has worked on this issue, and we will hear reports
from Julia Blixrud and Deborah Jakubs. How is this being addressed in
specific libraries?

6.Update on CCDO/ARL Survey (Sewell)

Brief update from Bob on how survey reporting is developing

7.Re-tooling librarians for the digital age

As we move through the transition into more digital collections, our
knowledge and skills as librarian need to change. How are libraries
addressing the issue of updating our staff's ability to respond to new
pressures, new collections and new service needs?

8.E-journal and print retention (Okerson)

A quick and informal survey of institutions that are canceling print in
favor of electronic this will gauge any changes since our last review of this.

9.Library renovation and off-site planning: collections-related issues (Jakubs)

As libraries build off-site facilities, how do they handle the issues of
deciding what remains on-site. Is there an optimal percentage of the
collection that should remain on-site? What are workable mechanisms for
reviewing what is sent to the storage facility? Do any "voice of
experience" stories demonstrate what should be avoided?

10.American Council of Learned Societies

The ACLS has asked to talk with us about the History E-Book project and get
some feedback on developing in the right direction. Eileen Gardiner and Ron
Musto are guests for this.

11.Electronic book-plating (Okerson)

How are libraries handling the acknowledgement of electronic products from
development funds/donor gifts? How do libraries keep this unobtrusive while
still getting the message across?

12.Other issues that arise.

12. Adjournment
