You are invited to a panel discussion sponsored by the ALCTS
Publisher/Vendor/Library Relations Committee:

"Strange Bedfellows - New Relationships, Shifting Boundaries"

The panelists will be discussing how traditionally separate facets of the
library and information business worlds are cooperating and/or uniting to
form unique new relationships and/or new companies. Half of the meeting
time will be devoted to audience discussion, so please bring your questions.

Moderator: Judith Niles, Director of Collection Management, Univ. of
Louisville Libraries
Panelists: Jane Burke, Endeavor, President and CEO and John Regazzi,
Elsevier Science Inc., President - to discuss Elsevier's purchase of
Endeavor
  Austin McLean, Bell & Howell Information and Learning,
Director, Publishing and Mark Sandler, Univ. of Michigan Library, Collection
Development Officer - to discuss the EEBO Text Creation Partnership
  Karen Casey, Oxford University Press, Sr. Vice President,
Scholarly & Professional Reference Publishing and Roy Heinz, Univ. of
Pennsylvania Library, Director, Information Services - to discuss the
OUP/UPenn Digital Book Project.

The meeting will be held Monday, January 15, 2001, 9:30-11:30 a.m.,
