I want to thank everyone who reads CD HotList and who has responded so
kindly since its introduction in March of 1999; I've been very gratified to
hear from many librarians who find it to be a useful collection development
tool. Up until very recently, CDHL has been something I've done on my own,
but since accepting the generous offer of help from Robert Sherrane at
Julliard, I've been thinking about how silly it is not to take advantage of
the expertise of others who might also be willing to contribute. With that
thought in mind, I'd like to extend a general invitation to members of the
library community: if anyone would like to become a contributor to CD
HotList, please contact me and let's talk. Here are some areas where help
would be especially welcome:

* CD recommendations in the following periods/genres:
- 20th century art music
- Jazz
- World/Ethnic
- Rock/Pop
- Folk (American)

* Web design (can we make CDHL a bit prettier, while keeping it lean and
functional?)

* Database construction (one reader has already expressed interest in
helping CDHL become a searchable database, and I'm sure that we could use
the help of others as well)

Other ideas are welcome, of course.

Thanks,
Rick Anderson
