[PLEASE RESPOND DIRECTLY TO LINDA PHILLIPS, NOT TO THE LIST ADDRESS]
From: Linda Phillips <phillips_at_aztec.lib.utk.edu>
Colleagues,
Would you be willing to share information about the percent increase that
you have to spend in this fiscal year's acquisitions budget? If so, please
send me directly the total percentage increase over FY 99/00 that you
received for monographs and serials combined in FY 00/01. If it's easier
to give me a total amounts allocated for FY 99/00 and FY 00/01, I can
figure the percentage myself.
Like many universities, University of Tennessee seeks to move up in the
rankings of research institutions. Librarians are making the case that
sustained funding increases will be required to support greater research
productivity. Since the ARL statistics typically run a year behind,
anecdotal data from those of you, particularly in Research I universities,
willing to reply will be a helpful source of current comparative
information. Thanks in advance for your help.
Linda
