Hello,I am in the process of gathering information on
e-books for allied health and clinical medicine. My library
serves both a hospital and a university, and I am looking
for feedback from libraries how ebooks are acquired and if
you support peripheral equipment to view the electronic
content. We already provide online access to MD Consult,
over thirty online medical and clinical textbooks, but are
looking further to develop an electronic book collection.
Through the State of Illinois, we have access to NetLibrary,
but the healthscience titles available are consumer health
orientated instead of research titles.
Are there any libraries actively collecting ebooks, if so,
do youuse e-readers or a desktop computer to download the
text? Do you have a retention policy? Do you know of any
publishers or vendors digitizing text in the health
sciences? Any licensing issues?
Thank you in advanced foryour assistance.
Sincerely,
Liz Lorbeer
