Print Collections Library Specialist II 

The George Washington University is seeking a
full-time Print Collections Library Specialist to
facilitate the bibliographic and physical control of
books, maps, and other printed materials in the
Special Collection Department of Gelman Library. 
Duties include ordering books; maintaining
acquisitions and gift logs for materials bought by and
donated to the Department; creating and maintaining
holdings records of items in the library's on-line
system; overseeing the physical processing of
materials; maintaining the order of the shelving
areas; compiling statistics; and staffing a public
services desk as needed.  The Print Collections
Library Specialist will report directly to the
Manuscripts/Collection Development Librarian, and
supervise the work of several students and volunteers.
 Qualified candidates should possess a high-school
diploma and three years of clerical library
experience.   Experience with Windows 95 and Voyager
cataloging and acquisitions modules is highly desired.

Special Collections holds many of the intellectual and
historical "treasures" of The George Washington
University.  One of the Department's focuses is in
documenting the history of Washington, D.C..  Special
Collections also has significant holdings in the areas
of American politics, the history of printing and
publishing, and the fields of event management and
travel and tourism.  The Special Collections
Department also mounts several exhibits each year. 
The Department is open to the public from noon-5pm
Monday-Friday.   

The pay range for this position is $21,880-$23,000 per
year.  The George Washington University offers an
