Does your collection really cover both sides of an issue? How will you
locate sources for issues that haven't made it into mainstream
discussion?

Come to our program, "Building Beyond the Mainstream: Identifying and
Selecting Non-Traditional Library Resources."

Sunday, July 9, 2000 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Marriot Downtown-Chicago, Ballroom D

Explore the need and importance of incorporating intellectual freedom
values into your collection. Participants will discover how to find
non-traditional formats, alternative materials, foreign language
publications, and more. A moderated panel will present strategies on
librarian relationships with vendors and publishers, continuing
education, and collection development in academic and public libraries
including identifying institutional policies that may be barriers to
collecting diverse materials.
